Earth Day 2012 -- Recycle For Sight!

Sight is a precious gift, and one that many of us take for granted.  If we have trouble seeing, we simply go to the eye doctor and get our prescription updated and voila...back in business.

But that is not always the case for those less fortunate.  The World Health Organization reports that 153 million people have simple uncorrected vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.  These types of vision impairments are easily identified and treated with corrective lenses.

Can you imagine how difficult it would be to function and perform daily activities if you had to do it without your eyeglasses or contact lenses?

For many of those in underdeveloped nations, the gift of a pair of eyeglasses can be life changing.  To a child it may mean that they are able to learn to read.  For an adult, it may mean being able to drive or get a better job to support the family.  For the elderly, it means being less dependent on others.

Recycle Your Old Eyeglasses and Receive a $50 Gift Card in our Optical Center

How can you help?  You can change a life by dropping off your old, or gently used, prescription eyewear, including sunglasses to Mulqueeny Eye Centers.  We accept donations year-round, but would like to encourage everyone to participate this week in honor of Earth Day 2012.  In turn, we will donate your old eyeglasses to a charitable organization for distribution to those who are unable to afford vision correction. 

To show our appreciation, you will receive a $50 gift card to use in our Optical Center now or anytime you choose in 2012.
