I have been wearing glasses or contacts since I was 12 years old.  I am now a 43 year old mother of two.  I had LASIK eye surgery at Mulqueeny Eye Centers.  Prior to surgery I could not see the "E" on the eye chart, 20/600 or so..........immediately (and I mean immediately) after surgery my vision was almost 20/20!!!  I still can't believe that these are MY EYES that are seeing so clearly........mentally it seems like I have my contacts in still (I even go into the bathroom at bedtime to take my contacts out and then remember  I don't have any contacts in!).

It has only been two weeks and I have had many new experiences already, some expected, some not.  I'll share one.

Once in a while one of our boys will get in bed with us.  Two days post-surgery I woke up for the first time in my life, and without moving a muscle, without searching with my hand for my glasses (which would inevitably be on the floor, on the far side of the night stand, on the dresser across the room, or in the bathroom), without squinting to no avail, I saw my beautiful little boy asleep.  All I had to do was open my eyes.  I could see his eye lashes, the tiny hairs along the side of his check, his eyes moving under his eye lids, his chest rising and falling with each breath.  And all I had to do was open my eyes.  No fear of waking him to get my glasses. 

I just cried and soaked it in.  I'll never forget that morning.  It was like having a newborn all over again.

I recommend LASIK to anyone..........no regrets.

P.S.   And for those who can't see the clock in the middle of the night, it is glorious!
